Who’s Your Favorite Shoe Designer of the Year?

Just caught up on this tidbit on Shoewawa.com:

Footwear News recently held their 23rd annual award ceremony, and Giuseppe Zanotti was named Designer of the Year. Bravo, Giuseppe! I couldn’t agree more. He kind of came from left field and seemed to effortlessly take his place among longstanding stalwarts like Prada, Chanel, and Christian Louboutin - now, everyone wants a pair of Zanottis. Every pair is a little work of art.

Steve Madden won company of the year, I guess for their hard working efforts in slowly breaking every bone in our feet. Way to go.

The president of Manolo Blahnik over here in the States, George Malkemus, was inducted into Footwear News’ Hall of Fame.

Who do YOU think should have won Designer of the Year, if not Zanotti? Or better yet, who will win next year? I know his stuff isn’t as high end, but I’m pulling for Jeffrey Campbell. He definitely fits a designer of the year bill, with his little line turning into a unique empire overnight, or at least what seemed like overnight.
